Florapark

At the northern end of Magdeburg, between the new city districts Neustädter Feld and Neu-Olvenstedt one of the most recently finished park landscapes of the capital city can be admired - the Florapark - formally known as Bördegarten.

The park was designed as a link between two newly built development areas. Its location offers a refreshing contrast to the eye and invites the residents to take a stroll in the park and enjoy the green landscape.

The masterplanning of the park, then called Bördegarden, was made at the beginning of the 80’s, however the public garden itself was created between 1989 and 1994.

Going from north to south, the Holzweg cuts through the park and separates the western part with its lake and theme gardens created for relaxation and tranquillity from the eastern part featuring a playground and toboggan hill for active leisure.

Every spring you can marvel at the cherry trees of the Holzweg blossoming.
