Twin City Radom

      Wappen Radom

The city of Radom lies in Central Poland, approx. 100 km from Warsaw.

It is located in the Masovian Lowlands, on the Radom Plain (150 - 200 m above sea level) and in the catchment area of the Middle Vistula and Pilicia Rivers, on the River Mleczna in the southern part of the Masovia Province.

The total area of the city is 11,180 hectares.
Radom has a population of 225,483.

Magdeburg and Radom are separated by a distance of 662 km.

A regional twinning partnership between the Land of Saxony-Anhalt and the Masovia Province has been in place since 2003.

The foundation of the partnership was strongly aided by the Magdeburg Vocational Training Centre for Construction, which has been pioneering an active youth exchange scheme with the Radom School of Construction since before the fall of the Iron Curtain.

The introduction of the city twinning partnership is very much the achievement of the Magdeburg-Radom Friendship Association, which was founded in 2006.

The Twin City Agreement was enthusiastically set in stone by the Magdeburg-Radom Friendship, which has dedicated itself to the development of a thriving twinning partnership.  Another promoter of the city twinning partnership is the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, which is not only strongly involved in the economic side of the exchange but also in many other areas.
